Today I want to dispel these prejudices and talk in detail both about the general essence of CPA affiliate programs, and in practice, see and feel what topics rule here and how this whole thing can be implemented in practice. My blog is aimed at beginner users, and therefore I will spend a little time explaining the principles of such a phenomenon as affiliate marketing(that is, affiliate programs and networks that unite them). If it exists and is successfully multiplying on the Internet, then it means that someone needs it (it’s profitable), but that’s what exactly is worth explaining.

You can probably guess that a seller of goods or services (business owner) can use a whole range of advertising tools and areas to sell online. This includes contextual advertising in search engines (Direct and AdWords), and advertising with payment for impressions (such as banners), and advertising with payment for clicks (teasers, targeted advertising in social networks), and SMM (attracting customers from social networks not by means of targeted advertising — work with communities, groups, etc.), and affiliate marketing. If I missed something, please add it.

It would seem that if you were a business owner, you could safely go to Direct or AdWords and start building a sales funnel based on the collected data (everything here is quite transparent and stable with the proper skill). Well, or use something else from the above to attract the target audience to your landing pages (sales pages). But still, many business owners use affiliate programs (in some areas of business, the lion’s share of sales comes from them). So there is something here. What exactly?

Well, if you look at the root, affiliate marketing can be trivial more profitable than other methods advertising (methods of generating sales). It can be beneficial both in immediate retrospect and in terms of further growth and scaling of the business. It is no secret that not all selling schemes can be scaled up easily and successfully, so that the profit grows more or less proportionally with the growth of investments. In affiliate programs, there are essentially no intermediaries who need to be paid additionally.

Now I'll tell you what essence of the affiliate program. Actually, it brings together a business owner (who sells goods and services) and someone who is ready to generate sales for him. True, in affiliate programs they often use another term - leads. Leads can also be sales, but most often they are some kind of action that the business owner pays the partner to perform. For example, this could be a completed loan application, registration on the business owner’s website, a call to his call center, or even a client coming to the office.

What exactly will be considered a lead (an action of an attracted client for which payment is assigned - a fixed amount or a percentage of the cost of a product or service) depends on the type of business, industry of goods and services, as well as on what is more convenient for both the partner and the owner to work with business. It is important that the interests of both participants are respected in the affiliate program, and therefore the lead becomes a kind of compromise, although far from ideal. But so far there is no real alternative to leads, which means it’s worth learning to work with them.

Who acts as a partner (earns) in such a program (CPA affiliate - with payment per action (Cost Per Action), that is, leads)? Why are there so-called affiliate networks that combine offers from different business owners? Actually, these are the key questions regarding today’s publication, so let me spend some time on explanations.

Mainly two types of partners can and do earn money in CPA affiliate programs:

1. Website owners similar in topic to the proposal (offer) that the business owner formed. Actually, this is just for you, dear readers. You probably monetize your sites somehow (for example, in Adsense and YAN), but affiliate programs in some topics can seriously add money or even surpass traditional monetization schemes. For example, in the financial sector, you can immediately receive a thousand to one and a half rubles for a lead (applying for a credit card at a bank). And in other topics, things are not so bad. The main thing is to search, try different CPA affiliate networks and identify the most profitable options for yourself (offers, i.e. specific proposals and cooperation schemes).
2. Arbitrators. Well, they know about themselves, but for others I’ll explain - these are speculators (in a good sense) of traffic (the flow of targeted visitors with a high probability of becoming clients). They can work with the same advertising systems as the business owner (context, teasers, social networks, banners), but they do it much more efficiently and the resulting leads are cheaper. The main thing is that they know how to do it delicately, without wasting money and receiving benefits rather than losses at the end. Some pros can have multi-million dollar annual turnover and equally impressive amounts of net profit. It goes without saying that this niche is not for everyone.

Now about why do we need CPA networks?. Well, these are essentially exchanges, i.e. platforms where business owners present their offers (proposals), and partners earn money from the offers that are most profitable for them (generate leads for them). Those. here people interested in each other meet and get the opportunity to get what they want (money and leads). The affiliate network also controls the process of movement of leads and money, acting as a guarantor of the righteousness of ongoing business processes.

This may sound somewhat optimistic, but without a CPA, the likelihood of finding such a partner(s) decreases sharply.

For partners Affiliate networks are interested in a large number of proposals (offers), a guarantee of payments, as well as maintaining detailed statistics that will help them navigate the profitability of offers and the feasibility of channels for attracting traffic - primarily for arbitrage traders, of course, but it will also be useful for site owners to track the effect of one or another method of generating leads (sales or actions specified in the offer).

Among other things, the affiliate network provides analytics for its partners and offer owners, where in general terms you can see the flow of money, but not only the final amounts, but at each individual stage of the sales funnel.
